FESPA UK Association announce new board member!

We are excited to announce that Magnus Mighall (pronounced Mile), will be joining the FESPA UK Board. Magnus is a Partner at RA Smart (CAD & Machinery) which operates predominantly within the textile industry, covering all sectors including fashion, home furnishing, sportswear, soft signage and education.

Magnus has been involved in the print industry since the age of 18 and was trained as a lithographic printer. He has been at RA Smart since the age of 22 working with analogue (screen printing) systems and became involved with digital printing systems for textiles at the very early stages of development and seeing the progression to where we are today with digital wide format technology becoming the ‘norm’ for so many of their customers.

We asked Magnus how he thinks he can make a lasting impact on the FESPA UK community:

“I hope I can impart some of my knowledge and experience within the textile sector of our industry to help widen the appeal of textiles to current FESPA UK members and encourage companies from the textile sector to look at the opportunities that FESPA UK and the wider FESPA community can offer and how it might benefit them”

One of the key things about being a part of the FESPA UK community, whether that being a printer member, partner or a board member is the element of community and wanting to improve the print industry for the better. Magnus shares some of his views on improving the industry:

“There are still so many opportunities for growth within the textile sector and digital technology is allowing entrepreneurial companies to realize opportunities within their given areas. I want to encourage and grow these opportunities whilst at the same time recognize that the textile industry needs to adapt and develop in an environmentally responsible manner.”

We are excited to be working with Magnus over the coming months, particularly with his insight into the textile industry which is a sector we would like to grow within the association.
