The Printing Charity’s 2026 Rising Star Awards open
Apply now to join the constellation
We are excited to share that The Printing Charity has officially opened applications for its 2026 Rising Star Awards, launching today (2 March 2026).
Now in their 17th year, the awards are designed to support people building careers across print, paper, packaging, graphics and publishing. They offer a fantastic opportunity to invest in professional development, with successful applicants receiving up to £1,500 in funding for training that helps them grow their skills and progress their careers and the funding does not need to be repaid.
This year, the awards are open to people aged 18 to 35, with the extended age range helping those who have pivoted into the industry or want to upskill for new opportunities. Applicants can work in any role across the print sector. Last year alone, 78 winners represented a wide range of jobs from CAD programmers and electrical engineers to graphic designers, pre press operators, print finishers, production planners, sign makers and transport and logistics coordinators.

The training funded reflects that diversity. In 2025, 148 courses were supported, a 41% increase on the previous year. These included personal development programmes, leadership and management training, role related skill building, and industry recognised qualifications from professional bodies, all helping recipients strengthen their capabilities and career prospects.
Winners often see immediate benefits. 2025 award recipient Jade Sullivan, from Positive+, shared how quickly she applied what she learned, gaining confidence to contribute ideas backed by evidence based theory. Similarly, Marc Farmer of Tradeprint highlighted the wider impact, including new conversations, networking opportunities and deeper industry involvement.
According to Neil Lovell, CEO of The Printing Charity, the Rising Star Awards remain the organisation’s flagship programme, celebrating emerging talent while showcasing the breadth of opportunity within the print industry.
Applications are open until Sunday 29 March. Before applying, potential candidates are encouraged to speak with a manager, mentor, HR representative or trusted colleague to identify development goals and choose the most suitable training. The grants are specifically intended for development that goes beyond employer provided role training.
Full details about the application process, along with guidance on preparing a strong submission and choosing courses, are available on the Rising Star Hub on The Printing Charity website. Applications can be saved and completed in stages, and any questions can be sent to awards@theprintingcharity.org.uk.
If you’re looking to grow your career in print, this is a brilliant opportunity to invest in your future.
