22nd August 2023, EMEA: Global Experience Specialists (GES) EMEA has partnered with specialist sustainability, social change and BCorp advisory business Seismic to address its societal and environmental impact following the BCorp framework to meet the very highest standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.
As one of the industry’s market leaders, and with a strong commitment to sustainability, GES wants to establish itself as a voice and innovator in the field and continue to be globally recognised for its commitment.
In recent years the businesses team has made great strides in realising its sustainability ambitions. With the continued development of its Show Ready modular product, which is entirely recycled or re-used, as well as an investment into its graphics and fabrics to ensure they are PVC and Solvent free and 100% recyclable, avoiding landfill. The team has also established new office bases at ExCeL London and the NEC, helping to reduce vehicle emissions by 50% and in many cases eliminate transportation needs entirely for its client’s attending shows at these venues.
Most recently, GES partnered with Rewind carpet, another innovation in production technology that again reduces emissions at creation, while also aiding easier reuse and recycling after each show. The brand also agreed another partnership with Reconomy last month, as part of its ambitions to find the best ways to both reduce waste and recycle all of its materials in the most positive way possible.
“We are working with Seismic to help take us to the next level. We’re already doing so much to ensure our business is as sustainable as possible, but we want to do more, we want to lead in this area. Our work with Seismic will challenge us to be even better and provide our clients with even greater confidence in our commitment,” said Dean Linehan, Vice President, Client Relations.
“GES are paving the way towards a more sustainability focused events industry and we are delighted to be their partner in this journey. They have already made considerable progress to reduce the environmental impact of their services and our work with them will help them to realise their ambitions and amplify their impact,” commented Amy Bourbeau, Cofounder and Chief Impact Officer of Seismic.
