FESPA UK Association and their members have used their platform and the power of their print community in order to help the situation in Ukraine by creating an infrastructure consisting of collection points, donations and logistics. Many of our colleagues, friends and family are situated in Lviv, who despite the situation are working hard to gather resources, get aid to those who need it and raise funds for essential items and further aid.
We have been blown away from the generosity of donations collected from FESPA UK members. All collected in various printer’s premises across the UK, including RMC Digital, FESPA UK, Instant Print, Josero, MacroArt, ImageCo and Outdoor Logistics UK just to name a few. In total we collected, sorted and donated a total of 9 pallets of items including food, water, medical supplies, toiletries and clothes. These were all transported from donation points to Instant Print in Sheffield and then to the Ukraine boarder by Outdoor Logistics UK.
Although physical donations have now come to a close our network continue to work hard to secure monetary donations to help Ukraine. Some members have even taken part in fundraising activities, to increase funds. Nicole Spencer, Managing Director of RMC Digital took part in a gruelling ‘Hell on the Humber’ run with all proceeds going towards Ukraine, despite dealing with a knee injury.
Nathan Swinson-Bullough Managing Director of ImageCo and his partner took part in a ‘Cycle to Ukraine’ which involved cycling an impressive total of 1761 miles (the distance from Leeds to Ukraine).
The fundraising keeps adding up with a constant stream of steady donations, which is very much appreciated over in Ukraine. Overall everyone has raised over £7,000, with the number still growing! We cannot thank everyone enough for all their amazing donations!
