Judging Role for Board Member Graeme

FESPA UK Association has a strong interest in this year’s FESPA Awards, with Board Member, Graeme Richardson-Locke one of the five judges.

Established in 1991 the FESPA Awards are renowned throughout the world of wide-format and industrial printing. Each year, this is where the talents of outstanding recipients are showcased and judged by industry experts, like Graeme.
Last year saw more than 350 entries across 15 categories, culminating in a spectacular black tie dinner, the FESPA Print Excellence Awards.

Commented Graeme: “I am delighted to have been invited to join the judging panel of the FESPA 2017 awards again this year. For me the value of the awards is that they are judged principally on the technical skill shown in execution and that the design has a lesser influence.

“The submissions in previous years have shown the best of our industry’s output and achieved the well-deserved recognition given from the awards. I hope that this year’s entries will present as tough a challenge and that we’ll have to make difficult choices across all categories to select the worthy recipients.

“Having worked across graphics, textile and industrial sectors of screen print production for 30 years, and a extensively in wide format digital, I have the experience to compliment the other judges’ knowledge. As a board member of FESPA UK Association I remain steadfast in believing in the power of community in print. The awards can only serve to encourage printers to be better and reach higher.

“I would also encourage entrants to provide as much supporting information as they can. We benefit from seeing validated proofs for comparison, and photos.”

Entrants for the 2017 Awards have until 27 January to submit their work. The final judging will take place on 1st & 2nd March and the winners will be announced alongside the FESPA 2017 exhibition in Hamburg at the FESPA Gala Dinner in May.
