Summit Hits the Heights

Digital Print For Corrugated Packaging Summit fully lived up to expectations when it was staged at the impressive Williams Conference Centre in Oxfordshire on 5 October.

Described as a "must-attend" event for printers, converters, specifiers and end-users, and designed to provide valuable information and knowledge in this rapidly advancing sector, the Summit was declared a great success by delegates, sponsors and organisers - FESPA UK Association.

On the evening before the Summit a number of delegates enjoyed a memorable dinner at the Conference Centre, including a drinks reception in the largest private collection of Grand Prix cars in the world - assembled by Sir Frank Williams.

The Summit began in great style with design guru, Silas Amos first up to address the sizeable contingent of delegates. His inspirational presentation focussed on creativity and the need to create engagement through packaging, and was very well received.

A further seven presentations took place during the course of the day, all providing valuable insights and key information. Presenters were…

Silas Amos - Minerva Studio
Tom Lindop - Smurfit Kappa
Jan De Roeck - ESKO
Neil Osment - NOA
Linsey Brookes - Swanline Print
Stuart Fox - ESKO
Barry Tabor - British Converting Solutions
Nick Kirby - Swanline Print

The event concluded with a lively panel discussion on some of the main topics of the day. This was chaired by Dan Brunton of Brunton Publications and also included Nick Kirby of Swanline Print, Ben Skelton of inspirepac and Steve Moss of Cepac.

Throughout the day the networking sessions proved popular, and during the lunch break some delegates took the opportunity to take a look around the magnificent Grand Prix collection.

Commenting on the Summit, Peter Kiddell of FESPA UK Association, said: "We have received excellent feedback from delegates, particularly the content of presentations and the venue, and we hope that plenty of useful advice and information will be taken back into businesses to boost their performance in this exciting area of print."

Many thanks to the Summit's sponsors, HP, Smurfit Kappa, Swanline Print, ESKO, and BCS, and also to FESPA for their support.
